The International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) has laid down the fundamental features of Responsible Care and sets the prime objectives of the programme for the chemical industry world-wide.

As part of the Responsible Care programme we have formed our own environmental policy.

Responsible Care

Responsible Care is an unique ethic for the safe and environmentally sound management of chemicals. The Responsible Care programme is a global voluntary initiative for the chemical industry.

Through Responsible Care, member companies are committed to support a continuing effort to improve the industry's responsible management of chemicals.

Every participating company's chief officer signs the Responsible Care Guiding Principles as a symbol of the commitment to continuous health, safety and environmental performance improvement.

Declaration of intent

In Denmark the Danish Association of Chemical Trade is in charge of the distributor's commitment to Responsible Care. The Association has formed the declaration (in Danish).

The implementation of Responsible Care began in the summer of 1998. The first verification of Responsible Care through the European Single Assessment Document, ESAD, took place in 2001. In Finland Broste OY is certified by SFS.
