The new EC Flavouring Regulation (EC) No. 1334/2008 was published in December 2008 with a transitional period of 24 months to ensure smooth transition.

The new EC Flavouring Regulation is part of FIAP (Food Improvement Agents Package).

FIAP consists of four regulations:

• Flavourings

• Enzymes

• Additives

• Common Authorisation Procedures


All four parts of FIAP will have implications for our industries.
